Experienced Nurse Rotation Scheme: Phase two evaluation
Experience nurse job rotation scheme: phase two final - Published 2006 - Authors: Lucock and Coyne
1. This study via in-depth interviews presents the results of the rotation scheme that aimed to provide experienced personnel with both a job change and education to support the mid career change.
2. The study highlights a number of lessons learnt from the reflective components of the scheme via the work-based learning course and action research approach to the project.
3. The study highlights how very little bureaucratic support is needed to manage a job rotation scheme, especially when experienced personnel seek to implement a career development scheme for themselves within a large organisation.
4. The initiative supported these experience personnel to remain with their professions, often with the same organisation, and to gain benefits to improve their employability.
5. The flexible self-directed learning packages provided by the education providers provide flexible, adaptable and relevant learning opportunities for the individual workers and to the organisations that employed them.
