Nurse Rotation Scheme at CNWL/WLMHT

Nurse rotation scheme at CNWL/WLMHT - Published 2004 - Authors: Ball and Buchan

1. This study covers three cohorts of staff (3 time 25) who came into a job rotation/education scheme as part of an initiative to recruit staff to difficult to staff services.

2. The study uses mixed methods to evaluate the scheme, seeking responses from participants, managers, supervisors, education providers and commissioners.

3. The study shows that the scheme was very successful in attracting staff to hard to staff services.  It also provides details about what was useful and what needed to be improved for future cohorts.  The overall results support the use of job rotation to attract staff, and supports the comprehensive model of job rotation which includes planned education, leading to useful outcomes for the organisation and the individual staff members.
